Project Prasinos is the name for the original rebuild and restoration project that I had planned for my 1995 Buick LeSabre. Today, that has expanded to cover all the work on all the vehicles I own – everything from simple modifications to complete restorations.
In Greek, “Prasinos” means “Green.” I remember a long time ago when I started working on my LeSabre, I wanted a name to use for the rebuild project I had in mind. I had some trouble thinking of a name, but eventually I decided to go with the color of the car. However, “Project Green” seemed too generic of a name, so I started looking for translations. I don’t remember how, but I came across the Greek translation, and for some reason, I liked it. That is how the name of “Project Prasinos” was born.
After coming up with the name, I wanted to build a website that tracked the progress for the LeSabre. I had a very rough draft built at the time, but I was very unhappy with the look (it looked like a website from 1996). Eventually I gave up on the idea for the website and just continued with updates on the car’s CarDomain page. Also, at the time, it did not matter much as I just did not have the time or money to even work on the car.
When a friend of mine and I rebuilt our main website, Mightor Industries, with the use of WordPress, I finally realized that I would be able to make this website to track the progress of the LeSabre’s rebuild. I really liked having my cars on CarDomain, but since it has been such a long time since I’ve updated anything there, I have lost touch with what is going on over there, and I’m not longer a fan of how you edit the pages. Having my own page for this will allow me full control over the process.
Things are going to be slow for awhile, as my biggest obstacle at the moment is a lack of a garage. Once I find one, I will be able to tear into the LeSabre, and get it the way I want. Until then, you can check out all that I have done to each of my cars and look forward to future modifications.
Thanks for stopping by.
